Description

The EB-154 is a single board, comprehensive instructional module designed to teach advanced concepts of microprocessors to technology students.

The module can be operated as a stand-alone unit or integrated to the EB-2000 Computer Managed Laboratory.

Objectives

  • Identify the different microcomputer bus signals and their functions

  • Identify the control hardware connected to the microcomputer

  • Analyze the bus activity of a microcomputer

  • Interface an 8253 Programmable Interval Timer to an 8051 microcomputer system

  • Generate digital waveforms

  • Program the timing of a one-shot circuit

  • Use digital signals to trigger a counter

  • Use of basic input/output devices

  • Understand communication between input/output ports

  • Generate strobed input/outputs

  • Analyze "real world" signals

  • Interface analog signals to a microprocessor

  • Convert analog inputs to digital values

  • Convert digital values to analog signals

  • Examine RS-232 signals

  • Understand asynchronous communications

  • Use a transmitter - receiver interface

  • Link a microcomputer to a P.C.

  • Use different peripherals in a system

  • Analyze the function of a complex system

  • Connect a controller and its peripherals to a computer
